About Us
Entering its 29th year, the University of Ottawa competitive dance team provides advanced dancers with the opportunity to continue dancing and competing throughout their post-secondary education. The dance team specializes in Jazz, Contemporary and Lyrical, but provides additional support and encouragement for dancers to focus on other styles such as Tap, Hip-Hop, Open and Acro.
Our Mission
The Gee-Gees dance team is known for its strong team spirit and strives to build lasting bonds between its athletes. The team has won multiple overall awards for solos, groups, judges choice, and choreography, continuing to uphold its image of excellence and professionalism.
Performance
The team rehearses 5-10 hours a week in preparation for performances and competitions held throughout the academic year. We participate in two to three university dance competitions every spring, competing against university dance teams from across Canada. The team also puts on an annual year-end showcase for friends, family, and members of our community to enjoy.
